A Midsummer Nights Dream
By William Shakespeare
directed by David Bridel

donkey“On a slight groundwork of reality, imagination spins and weaves new patterns made up of memories, experiences, unfettered fancies, absurdities, and improvisations…” August Strindberg

In collaboration with renowned audio-artist and Otego resident Charles Bremer, FSC brings you an unforgettable rendering of Shakespeare’s most popular comedy.

Director David Bridel writes: "While A Midsummer Night's Dream is eventually a joyous play, it is easily forgotten (or overlooked) that at its beginning, the forest has been ruined by the petty arguments between Oberon and Titania:

The fold stands empty in the drowned field
And crows are fatted with the murrain flock
The nine men's morris is filled up with mud."

"Charlie Bremer's work in the field of sound design, especially as it relates to the elements, seems to be an ideal fit for a play that takes us deep into the heart of this desolate forest. His instruments, especially those based on the movement of water and the movement of wind, will conjure up a strange and unsettling atmosphere that precisely complements the 'natural discord' of Shakespeare's eerily prophetic countryside."

Pinocchio
by Carlo Collodi, adapted by FSC
Directed by David Bridel

“Once upon a time - ”
“There was a King!”
“No! There was a little puppet…”

The little puppet has no money and even less sense. He heads out into the world against the wishes of his father and the advice of his conscience, and he gets into big trouble. Collodi’s fable is a celebration of everything that is wilful, illogical, and glorious about childhood. Mischief and mayhem abound in the FSC’s first ever show created for a family audience. Four performances only!

All Performances at 11am
