Chapel Hall

painting by Beth Firmin
In 1854 when the townspeople of Franklin, New York, erected Chapel Hall, the prevailing architectural style of our young democracy was Greek Revival. This acknowledged the great gifts passed down to us from Athens, the first democracy. Among those gifts was the earliest – and still among the greatest – written drama. So it is especially fitting that beautiful Chapel Hall, with its soaring white columns, is our home. On these pages, find information about the past, present, and future of Chapel Hall – and how you can help us in our struggle to preserve this magnificent building.
